Welcome to the Good Life

For the last TWO WEEKS we have been enjoying life on the beach! I have never been on a two week vacation and let me just say I could definitely get used to this! The past two weeks have flown by and I'm not ready to leave!! St. Simons is one of my favorite vacation spots and I hope that my children grow to love it as much as I have over the years!
Kerry was only able to come down for the last week, but we still had so much fun! The first week my mom and nephew came for a few days so it was nice to have adult conversation : )
While in St. Simons we got to do all kinds of fun things:
-We went to the water park at Neptune Park in SSI
- Went to Summer Waves in Jekyll
- Went to dinner almost every night we were there (gained a few pounds too : )
   Some of our favorites:
  • Crabdaddy's
  • Crab Trap
  • Hot Dog Alley
  • Brogen's
  • Zuzu's for Ice cream

- Beach everyday....only rained 3 times and that was always for a short time
- Kerry and I took the boys to see Cars 2
- Played Putt-putt a few times (mini-golf as Carson calls it)
- rented bikes
Here are a few of the pictures that I did take of our vacation.....

Kerry walked with C&W to the sand bar and they both found a starfish

Sweet SUMMERTIME

It's HOT and has been for the past couple of weeks. It's not even the official start of summer yet, however we have taken full advantage of our neighborhood pool and any water activities!! This year is the first that we have really been able to enjoy the pool. Walker can swim like a fish and Carson is doing great with his floaties (HOPEFULLY we will conquer swimming w/o the floaties by the end of summer). Before this year it was easier just to stay at home than to chase Carson around the pool. He actually swims now and jumps off the side of the pool......So it's much more relaxing for me : )

Joggermom Marathon

So, as I said in my last post I recently signed up for the Joggermom Marathon. It's not your "average" marathon. The purpose of the marathon was to complete 26.2 miles in the month of May. I signed up because I just started to run and thought it would be fun to set a goal for myself. So I ran my 26.2 miles (and a little more) throughout the month of May, turned in my spreadsheet, and the next thing I know I got an email saying that I had been chosen as a winner (only 5 winners out of 1,000 entries) How Exciting!!! Here is the link to the post that was written to announce the winners.

Striving to be a RUNNER

So, for the last couple of months I have taken up running. I want so badly to be a "runner" My goal is to eventually complete a half marathon which is 13.1 consecutive miles. I am hoping to reach my goal by November so that I can compete in the Rock-N-Roll half marathon in Savannah.
A couple of weeks ago I signed up for the Joggermom Virtual Marathon and it really helped me to be more accountable for my progress. The purpose of the marathon was to complete 26.2 miles during the month of May (less than 7 miles a week) so this goal was pretty attainable. I can run 2-3 miles at a time and have ran up to 4 for a long run. So I am going to be updating my blog with my progress in hopes that it may help me reach my gaol of running 13.1 miles (which to me right now seems CrAzy) : )
